The recent row between MQM and PTI has inadvertently proved one thing; that the Pakistani Public (especially the youth) have rejected and shunned the politics of fear and timidity! After Altaf Hussain's extremely uncalled for, unethical, indecent, inflammatory and obnoxious rants against Pakistani Women including Dr Shireen Mazari; while the Women's/Human Rights
Champions - likes of Asma Jahangir, Farzana Bari and Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy remained tight lipped, the common man created a ruckus on the social media compelling anchors like Nasim Zehra, Kashif Abbasi and Shahzeb Khanzada (credit to them) to take up this issue. But what was more shameful was the defence adopted by MQM leaders (Raabta Committee) of the filthy language used by their leader against respectable women. What MQM didn't realize or perhaps miscalculated was that it was not PPP or PMLN they had picked up a fight with, in fact, they had locked horns with the most popular party of Pakistan (PTI) including that of Karachi.
Imran Khan's silence against MQM during the past few months had bothered some of PTI Karachi voters and supporters, but, in the light of MQM's involvement in organised crime in terror stricken Karachi- it was probably the right thing to do for the safety of PTI Karachi workers. However, after the startling revelation of MQM's involvement in the burning of almost 300 people in Baldia Town fire, not speaking up/raising voice and demanding action against the perpetrators would have been equally sinful. Consequently PTI's information secretary Dr Shireen Mazari issued a press release asking the government to take action against those involved in this heinous crime! Not to my surprise though, the demand of action against the perpetrators irked MQM's Chief so much that he resorted to abuse and slander. This brazen attempt to silence any dissenting voice can best be construed as an admission of guilt on MQM's part!
After Altaf Hussain's outburst, staying silent or ignoring his nonsensical statements was not an option for PTI and hence the first attack came from PTI Karachi President, a true adherent of Imran Khan - Ali Zaidi. A gutsy and courageous press conference by him where he presented a charge sheet against MQM, listing all their crimes and gave a 48 hour ultimatum to Altaf Hussain to apologize in order to avoid the consequences - a defamation lawsuit in UK. His extremely fiery press talk set the tone for the big man to come in and give his flamboyant touch to the innings. And then what we saw was a ferocious tiger taking on a wounded jackal. Imran Khan's promise to his people (specially women & youth) that he would always stand beside them, prompted such an extreme reaction. One could actually feel and see the disgust and abomination on Khan's face as he took on Altaf Hussain, calling him "Pagal" (insane), "psychopath"and "buzdil/geedar" (coward).
Surprisingly, many who completely ignored Altaf's tirade against women, were the 1st ones to criticize Imran Khan for being too harsh! My question to them is: How would you have reacted had he abused your mothers or sisters? Would you have not called him Insane or psychopath? Do you expect any normal human being, let alone a so called national leader appear on tv and call the women of Pakistan prostitutes? Will anyone with an iota of shame tolerate this insanity, disgrace and/or disrespect? Also, what would you call a person who claims to be Pakistan's savior, but doesn't have the courage or gall to return to Pakistan for more than 2 decades? If thats not cowardice (buzdili),then please tell me what is?
Imran Khan's press conference left shocking waves in MQM's circles, not just in Pakistan but also in UK! Despite the absurd, cheap, disgusting and below the belt attacks meted out towards Imran Khan by MQM, Altaf Hussain had to come live on a show and publicly apologize for his misconduct, misdemeanor and use of foul language! This clearly showed that MQM had messed with the wrong guy and were feeling the heat/pressure. For the first time someone had paid them back in the same coin!
Just to refresh the memories of those who continue to defend MQM like sycophants;
On 11th December 2014 Altaf Hussain himself confessed that Rabita Committee members had been patronizing/harboring criminals, target killers, Bhatta Khors, land mafia & that they have sold the streets/parks of Karachi- stashing and buying property worth billions in US and UAE, while contributing zilch to the party fund.-

Doesn't this confession/admission by their own party chief mean that whatever allegations others had leveled on MQM, were actually true and not a conspiracy against them? Also, as for Altaf Hussain's own conduct- has he not threatened the media numerous times? Did he not incite violence on 12th May 2013, threatening PTI supporters,which then resulted in the killing of Zahra Apa? Wasn't MQM behind the killing of Wali Babur (Journalist) and all six of his witnesses? Everyone knows the answers to all these questions- but some are petrified while others (Pseudo Liberals) think its justified to kill people in the name of secularism!
