PTI once again pinned the opponents when it decided to join parliament after the formation of empowered judicial commission. But in retaliation PTI received a verbal onslaught from government and opposition benches. Though stalwarts like Chaudry Nisar, Aitzaz Ahsan and Khursheed Shah welcomed PTI MNAs but many raised slogans against Imran Khan and Co. The ferocious welcome was from MQM, ANP, JUIF and PMLN parliamentarians. Khwaja Asif showed his true colors once again, his hypocrisy talled all.
Such attack was expected as the 126 days of sit in showed that the corrupt will never take stand and will always be humble to each other. But something was expected from PTI MNAs. A slow motion shut up call would have been enough to soothe the insafians. The common slogans were Sharam Karo (Be Ashamed) and Maafi Mango (Ask Forgiveness). One PTI parliamentarian should have responded with the following facts.
“We would have asked for forgiveness if any of our leader is involved in any target killing or extortion. We would have asked for forgiveness if my leader would have lied on the floor of the house. We would have asked for forgiveness if we had taken the votes in the name of islam and have done nothing for interest free banking or ban alcohol. We would be ashamed if any of our leader has stashed millions abroad in Malaysia, United Kingdom, Canada, Dubai or any other foreign land. We would be ashamed if any of our leaders is tagged as an Easy-load baba. We would have felt ashamed if our leaders have taken token money to be silent on the murders on our workers. We would have been ashamed if my leaders have taken 1000 kanals land to pass a bill, we would have be ashamed if my leaders have three of his siblings in parliament on reserved seats.
We are here to debate Yemen issue. Pakistan for the last 4 decades have been involved in internal and external wars. From 2000 onwards the War on Terror (WOT) have taken hell out of every Pakistani. Armed forces have sacrificed everything, we were termed as bluffers by our coalition partners. Pakistani civilians have carried the coffin of their fellow citizens innumerable times. But no one came to support us. The losses we have been bearing are more than what we got in support fund. Now when we are on the verge of defeating enemies, we are facing a new threat in the name of Yemen. Safeguarding the holy city of Makkah and Madina is the responsibility of every muslims including Pakistanis but safeguarding the royal family is the sole responsibility of saudi armed forces. For years Pakistan have given them logistics and professional support, they are competent enough to protect their royal families.”
The Saudis regard Pakistanis as their brothers but what the Kafeels do to Pakistani labour is unethical and unacceptable. Pakistanis are treated as ordinary foreigners just like other third world citizens. The Europeans and Americans are treated far better than Pakistanis. The salary disparity between a Pakistani and European Pakistani is almost 100 percent.
The saudis can easily help Pakistan to be out of energy crises but have done little to support Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline. The seminaries which are breeding ground of extremists can easily be controlled by the saudis but they have done little to help Pakistan win this war on terror.
In short Pakistan should look after its own interests before engaging in another war. Its been couple of months that decisive actions is started against the terrorists in the form of operation Zarb e Azb. Little mishap or miscalculations can drag us back to zero. Pakistan is close to both Saudia Arabia and Iran. No one in Pakistan would want any of them to be our enemies or even to have a slightest of grudge. Pakistan should safeguard the city of Makkah and Madina at all cost but should not be part of Yemen invasion in any form.
