Operation Morality By Shehzad Ali

Operation Morality By Shehzad Ali

Pakistanis as a nation faced the news of heart operation for their Prime Minister Mr. Nawaz Sharif, which was seen with doubt at the timing of this operation. It is post Panama Leaks that this news was circulated via a Maryum Safdar tweet. Before going for the operation the PM was seen doing hectic Jalsas under tents with Air conditioners and fans at KP, seen eating non healthy food in the restaurants of London and walking around with full vigor unlike a heart patient would.

For a lay person to understand what a heart attack is, here are some medical facts;

A heart attack happens if the flow of oxygen-rich blood to a section of heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked and the heart cannot get oxygen. Most heart attacks occur as a result of coronary heart disease (CHD). CHD is a condition in which a waxy substance called plaque builds up inside of the coronary arteries.

As you all might be aware our so called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has recently undertaken an open heart surgery in UK. We at PTI wish him a swift recovery but questions do arise in my mind. I question the morality, people in Pakistan hardly have any facilities or have money for such complicated surgeries. A fact for you, Pakistan’s population has one of the highest risks of coronary heart disease (CHD) in the world. In Pakistan, 34 percent of all deaths are due to heart attacks. The CHD deaths in Pakistan has reached about 200,000 per year that is 410/100,000 of the population. I give you an example imagine someone sitting at a perfectly laid table with an array of mouth watering dishes and eating away, all around him are poor and hungry people, wouldn’t you consider that morally wrong? That's exactly the impression our PM having this sugary abroad gave me. In the three tenures PMLN have had in power haven’t they managed to build at least one hospital fit for our King Nawaz?

You have to admit that this operation, this sudden health condition was very well timed. The convenience of it all was impeccable, when the corruption has been leaked via Panama Papers, when the pressure has been mounted, suddenly the PM is required an open heart surgery. Aren't you slightly curious regarding the appropriateness?

According to specialists, patients who are fit an healthy prior to the open heart surgery can recover early but thats very rare. I doubt Nawaz Sharif was fit and healthy prior to the surgery as his physical body is in no shape and form to be described as athletic. Mia Sahib is known for his love for food, "Hiran ki Haleem" and other expensive dishes are cooked frequently for our dear PM. When your PM travels abroad with his private cook, you know you have someone here obsessed with food!

During one of his trips recently to Saudi Arabia the prime minister had ordered that his favorite dishes were to be made for the flight back home. The PIA plane prepared 36 of the Prime Ministers favorite dishes including Qourma, Biryani and several different Chinese foods. So we have established he can't be physically fit as the quantity of his food intake and choice of food can't allow him to be! Another fact for you, usually the patients are bed bound 2-4 weeks post surgery but remember prior to the so called surgery Mia sahib was busy in the heat doing Jalsas. I’m not picking these facts from the sky!

I believe all Pakistani lives are precious. Hazrat Umer Farooq R.A being a leader never gave himself priority, on the contrary prioritised the people before himself. Shouldn’t our leaders learn from these prime examples Islam has set before us? Whom ever might be reading this blog, step back and think and when you come to the conclusion I have reached upon, realise we are the only ones that can change our destiny. We need to get out of this slave mentality so that everyone in Pakistan is given the same treatment.

Shabaz Sharif recently visited his brother in England and after the visit took a taxi back to his place of residence in London. I was shocked to see a man who in his own country travels with VIP protocol is taking a taxi! How I wish our leaders stopped acting like Mughal Badshah's and how I wish we take command and stop allowing them too. It's high time we role up our sleeves as a nation and bring back that lost morality.
